The Avengers

                Hey, in this post, I will talk about the movie that I watched a week ago, The Avengers. I know it’s very late to talk about this movie now, but this movie was so good that I would watch it for the fourth time. This movie as you may all know, tells a story about a group of superhero’s that unite to fight the evil that tries to conquer the Earth. This movie is a Marvel movie, and is one of the best movies I have ever seen, I even think is better than the Hunger Games. What makes this movie more exiting is that before it, there were other movies about all the different heroes individually in their own movie, which makes it exciting to watch this hero’s, unite for the first time forming a team called the Avengers. There are different heroes in the movie with their own specialties like Tony Stark which is Iron Man (A man with an iron armor), there is Thor (A sort of god that comes from another planet named Asgard) , there is also Steve Rogers which is Captain America(A modified soldier in the world war 2 that got frozen and was found in the present), Natasha Romanoff (A spy), Bruce Banner which is Hulk (A monster created by an experiment) and there is Clint Barton which is Hawkeye. All this heroes have their own individual movies before this one like Iron Man 1 and 2 with the third one which will come out, Captain America 1 and the second one that I think is coming out, Thor 1 and Thor 2 which will come out and there are Hulks movies as well that came out a long time ago. As you can see, there are already planning the other movies and what’s more exiting is that Avengers 2 is been planned out as well now.

 

                Now that you know the basics, I will explain the movie, if you don’t like spoilers, then I suggest you should leave. The movie starts with Loki ( Thor’s brother which is evil ) talking with an Alien about giving him an army to conquer the Earth, the Alien accept but only with the reward of the Tesseract, a powerful energy source. Loki ends up transporting to the Earth and takes the Tesseract with some people whose minds and heart were controlled by Loki. The Earth’s best option was the Avengers Assemble to answer the attack of Loki, now that the Earth was not ready for a war like this one yet. Shield, in control of Nick Fury, reunites all the outstanding heroes that could help and try to make them a team. Unfortunately, they don’t get along very well causing the team almost break apart. At the end, their arguments stops and they reunite after Agent Coulson gets killed by Loki when he is escaping. They had finally reunited but it was too late, Loki and his group of brain washed people had set up the portal for the army to come into the Earth. Once the aliens were in, the heroes had a tough fight; it would be useless to kill an alien because more would come through the portal. The Senators, thinking they will lose the fight, decide to shoot a nuclear missile into Manhattan without the permission of Shield. Nick Fury then tells Iron Man about the news and Iron man goes and tries to change the direction of the missile, at the end, Iron Man ends up changing the direction into the portal shooting the nuclear missile into the planet of the aliens, ending the war. They all think they have won but after the credits of the movie(which is something Marvel always do with their movies) they show the alien in the beginning talking to another aliens= which was called Thanos. It does not tell us more but it sure says that there will be another invasion in the next movie done by Thanos, one of the most powerful and greatest enemies.

                What I cannot believe, is that some people told me there was another scene after the credits of the scene after the actual credits. So what I am trying to say is that there was a scene that we missed thinking it had ended. I don’t want to spoil to you that scene but you will sure enjoy it, so if you live near a movie theater, I suggest you to watch it now before it goes out of the movie because watching it in the movies is a whole new experience. True Talents

As you may already know, True Talents is the sequence of Hidden Talents written by David Lubar. Unfortunately, I chose to read True talents without reading Hidden Talents without knowing. Supposedly, in the first book in Hidden Talents, there are a bunch of kid that are been bullied a lot, at the end, they figure out that they are not regular kids but they each have special abilities. One of the kids are Trash which can move things with his mind, Torchie can start fire with his mind, Cheater can read minds, Lucky finds lost objects, Flinch can predict the future and Martin can see into people’s souls. Sadly, this kids got kicked from their schools for vary reasons, for example, Cheater was kicked because the teachers would think he cheated for getting such grades. At the end, they all end up attending the same school and there, they trained their skills. At the end, they had to close the school, so this group of friends decided to save the school with their own special individual talents. If you wish to what happens, then I suggest you to read it.

            Luckily, I did not read Hidden Talents or else, I would fail in this assignment due to the lack of information that the previous paragraph had. The book I read was True Talents, the sequel to the short summary I wrote about above. In this book, these teenagers are not in school anymore but at home with their families separated from the other talented friends. The beginning of the book is very confusing because it talks about Trash waking up on a type of laboratory without knowing where he is or why he is even there. There he goes through a variety of tests to see his special ability to move objects with his mind. He is told to move many objects like a piece of marble in the beginning but even thou he tried the hardest he could after been confused, he could not lifted. It is hard for him to do so, especially when he is been forced to. Throughout the book, he is been told to lift things up with his mind but not only that, but he is also given lots of medicine that he refuses to consume but ends up taking it. This medicines cause him to relax as well as making him confuse. It is blurry and confusing why he ended up there but throw-out the book, you discover that he was discovered when he was practicing his powers in the bank, when accidentally, he had stolen some money. He then, was kidnapped by an organization that is testing him to see how his powers work. He cannot escape but luckily, he has 5 other friends who are willing to do anything to reunite after a long time. Here is when the story gets exiting, when the 5 teenagers start figuring out how to take one of their friends out of there risking their own freedom for a friend and the chance to reunite once again.

Terror en lo profundo ( Shark Night )

                Remember the movie I talked about in the last blog? The one I mentioned that was about sharks and that was like Jaws, well, no need to ask yourself which movie it is because I will be talking about it in this blog. But first, there is something you don’t know about me and is that I am in a Latin country so the title is in Spanish. The movie I watched with my friend is called Terror en lo Profundo, which in English would be Terror in the Deep.  The title explains it everything now that it says terror in the deep but it does not explain every fact about the movie unless you go to a movie site and read the summary of it but you would still be missing some key points and elements of the movie which is the suspense that you will not fee and experience now that you will only read the summary.

                This movie talks about a group of students in university that decide to go in a trip in a lake to celebrate the B+ that one of them had gotten, but it was not a freshwater lake, it was a salt one. They were excited about this trip and once they got there, they were surprised and amazed of where they were going to be living on the next few days.  During the day, one of the guys called Malik which was the one who got the B+ decided to water ski but he never though there was something in the water that was going to drag him into the water. Fortunately after being bitten by a shark pulled down underwater, he managed to escape the jaws of the shark and swim back to shore. Safe and alive, he loss something vital, he had lost one of his arms. But even with the disappeared arm, they did not guess there was a shark in the water, instead, they though he had cut his arm by crashing into something when he had fallen into the water. After, one of the guys (the main character) jumped into the water to see if he could get the arm back that his friend had lost but disgracefully, he found something more than the arm but he found a shark about to rip his body and eat his flesh. He survived, obviously because he is the main character but the others were eaten and ripped apart in ways you could not imagine.

                Only two people survived the main character and his girl but they barely survived. But the death of these students is not what makes it scary but is the reason of why this people are being eaten. You will have to watch a movie if you want to know how this students died and how the sharks got into the lake, but let me recommend you, you don’t want to know but you want to watch it. Confusing, right? If you are, this is what I was aiming for, so that you have the curiosity to watch it even thou when you realize what happens, you will want to erase some hours of your life because watching this movie is like watching an episode of criminal minds. Hope you enjoyed and that you may enjoy the movie with the nightmares that will fallow at night, good luck when you go swimming and don’t think about this movie because if you do, I am sure the people around you are going to notice the temperature change and the warmth in the water.

Carnival!!!

Hey, I am back, back from my carnival vacation and no, I did not dress in a costume! Unfortunately I did not go anywhere for carnival but luckily, my friends stayed as well so I had a fun time with them here in the city. We did all sort of things like watch a movie, play sports, and many other fun and boring activities that someone could do here. One of the favorite activities we did was everything, yeah; I actually enjoyed my carnival with my friends because for me being with my friends is way better than being in a trip. Every time I come back from a school trip or a trip with my friends, I get upset thinking it was the trip that was fun but it really is my friends which make my trips and life more interesting and exciting.  One of the things we did was play computer games like Team Fortress 2 or Minecraft, we would play some games in multiplayer and chat which is something we like to do, I like the gaming part but I also enjoy chatting and talking to them because we never know what kind of conversations we will be talking about, my friends can talk and start any conversation.

                I did not only spend my carnival with my friends but I spent it with my family which is fun whenever they are not talking to me about my grades and school stuff. It was fun to spend time with them, my mom had just returned from a trip and I was happy to see her again. Even thou I had an exciting time with them, I have to admit it was not as interesting because they are always working, so I am normally left at home alone while I chat with my friends.

                But one thing I will never forget is the movie I watched with a friend which was about sharks, kind of like Jaws even thou I don’t remember that movie a lot. This movie was intense, it was scary but not that scary to make me pee on myself but it was the suspense that made it scary because you would never know who would die first, even thou the events were predictable, it would still be very scary when it would happen. To give you a clue of how interesting and freaky this movie was, is that I did not even have time to finish my popcorn and drink due to how I was so into the movie, I was not even half way with the popcorn and drink when the movie finished. So I really enjoyed this vacation and I am looking forward to have another brake, I hope you guys had a nice carnival and that you enjoyed my summary of my short vacation.

The Wizard of Oz

The Wizard of Oz is a really interesting and fascinating book and movie that has touched people’s hearts like the man of the last interview. I have seen the movie and don’t remember if I ever read the book but I do know one thing, that it is very successful and that I am one of those people that got touched by it. This wonderful movies and books are not only interesting but it has changed lives by the lessons it teaches. For example, three of my favorite lessons are the fallowing: fallow your own yellow brick road, don’t hide your true self and the solution might be right on your feet (In the case of Dorothy).  I think that the idea of writing a blog of this and comparing it to real life is really creative because the Wizard of Oz has so many lessons of life that you could write lots of blog entries comparing your own life with the lessons of it.

                Just fallow your own yellow brick road is one of my favorite lessons in the Wizard of Oz, The reason why is because is because is telling you to fallow your own road. Dorothy is told by the good witch, Glinda that she will have to fallow the yellow brick road to solve her problems which was to go back to her home which is in Kansas. She fallowed the yellow brick road but even thou she did, Dorothy could have fallowed her own yellow brick road which is telling us that we can all go on our own yellow brick roads that will lead us to our destiny that is awaiting for us.

                The next lesson that teaches all of us is to not hide your real self from the world and from you as well. This lesson, as it says, it tells us to be ourselves even if the others don’t like how you are because being another person won’t be really help a lot or even be comfortable for you as well. If you are your real self, I am sure someone will enjoy having your company. But don’t take this like if you could do everything you wished because life does have limit, especially civilization, so this is not telling you to kill someone you hate or to steal, it’s just telling you to be yourself but do what’s right.

                At last, all the solutions you are looking for might be just under your nose. We have all read and watched the movie and we all should know that Dorothy’s solution was right under her nose, in her case on her feet. When a problem or issue presents in your life, don’t get nervous and try to think clearly because if you get scared or nervous, your head will not be able to find solutions. The human brain thinks better when its calm, if it’s all scared and frustrated, the most probable incident that might happen is to turn the problem worst. Life has obstacles and you will have to go through them no matter what, so if you get a problem, you know what to do, because the solution might be just under your nose.

                The wizard of Oz, one of the most interesting movies and book that I have ever read and watched. Is This Guy Actually Succesfull?

So here we are again back in the interviews after the book review about Catching Fire. I hope you enjoyed the review because I really like this books and I hope you might want to read them as well. SO in this post, as you may know, I will interview another person which will be anonymous. This guy is a pretty powerful man who is pretty famous because of his blog named Just Fallow the Yellow Brick Road. You might know this blog already and if you have never seen it, I would suggest you this blog because is a very interesting blog, better than this one, so if you want to visit that blog, just go to the website above of this post. So just like the other interviews I have done in the pass, I will start with it right now.

What inspired you to write this blog that made you so famous?

                Well, it all started when I watched and read the Wizard of Oz, it was my favorite movie after that incident. Well, it was not my favorite, my favorite movie is the Lion King, one of the most inspiring movies I have ever seen, you should of seen me in the band concert, I was about to cry of excitement because hearing that song had made my day completely. So coming back to the topic, The Wizard of Oz is not my favorite movie but is my second favorite one. Another reason of inspired me to choose this subject was that I had to choose a topic for it and I was running out of ideas so I decided to stay with this one and in my opinion, it was a good option because it has been really famous since then.

What is your favorite part of The Wizard of Oz?

                There are a book and a movie and I really enjoy and enjoyed both of them. My favorite part in the movie is when they run away from the witches’ castle because it was really exciting and for me it was like the climax of the movie. For the book, it would be when Dorothy gets to go back home, what’s so magical in that part for me is that in the movie, it is all a dream at the end but in the book, everything was real and its better and more interesting for me that she is actually going back home. What makes it even more special is that there is a feeling in me that makes me happy to know that all this really happened and it was not just dream where it is fake.

How would you describe yourself mentally?

                I would describe myself as a really hard working guy, that works the hardest I can and when I say work the hardest I can, I am not joking; every time I faint in my room, not even on my bed, I always miss the bed because once I open the door, I give up and faint right away into the floor waiting for the next morning to wake up with my neck and back hurting. But I don’t regret working hard because without it, how can I be so famous right now, it helped me be one of the top milliners of Caracas and I am proud of it. I take my grades very seriously, if I don’t get a good grade, I push myself harder next time, that’s how I always end up fainting, by pushing myself more than I have to but I am thankful for it.

With such a success in your life, you should be happy with your family, right?

                Well, I have 4 kids and a wife but we hardly talk to each other because I work a lot.  Have two sons and two daughters, they are called Jade, Jose, Yami and Michael. My wife is a really beautiful woman but I hardly have time to talk to her, she works for the embassy and she also is a hard worker like me. That’s how I got to know her, one day, I had worked too hard and had fainted in the car, they had to take me to the hospital and there she was, apparently, she had the same incident. So yeah, my life with my family is not as good since I have been working all this time, I guess I should have one free day for myself and my family but I would lose millions, remember, time is money.

What do you do with all this money you earn?

                Not that I want to brag about it but I make 500 times more money than you do, I earn 5 million dollars per day, sometimes 10 million. I use this money to buy things to my wife, once I bought her a whole ship and we used it in our anniversary. I often use the money for major shares in company to earn even more money, I really like money, I am working on a money tree, I hate the people who say: “ Money doesn’t grow in tree’s”, well, I want to prove them wrong, who says that’s not possible!!! I have so much money that I bought a blackberry for each member of the family and there are also 4D T.V’s in every room so that anywhere you will go, you won’t get bored, you might be wondering “What!!!! 4D T.V’s, if they have just started the production of 3D T.V’s’, well the answer to that is that I am friends with the president so he gives me the best things in the country. So I must say I have a lot of money, I have a very big mansion.

               

                 So in conclusion, this guy is a pretty rich man, I mean, a 4D TVs? Yeah, what I see bad in his life is that it does not have that much happiness even though he sounds like he does, but he hardly talks to his own family, that for me would be sad and depressing. But I don’t blame him, who would not change their family to have so much money? I am joking, your family is the most important thing, followed by knowledge and happiness, remember, money does not solve it all, happiness and knowledge is what you need.

 Catching Fire

            As I had said in the past blog post, I have to write a review of a book I read, and don’t worry, I won’t spoil the end for you guys. You may know that there are a series of books that are written by Suzanne Collins and they are The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mocking jay; all of them are interesting and exiting but the book this review will talk about, as I said, its Catching Fire which is the second book after The Hunger Games. This series of books talk about a Nation named Panem that is divided into 12 districts and the Capitol, all the people living in districts are the ones that were against the Capitol so as you may know, the districts were not in good conditions, they were all guarded by soldiers and each district was assigned a different job. For example, district 12, where the main character Katniss lives, is supposed to be a district that mines coal. This people did not only had to survive the state of their districts but they had to watch kids from their districts die each year in the TV. This was the Hunger Games which is the name of the first book as well, two kids, one boy and a girl were chosen in every district to be placed in an arena for them to kill each other in order to survive and give a better life to their families. If you read the first book, you may as well know that Katniss and Peeta survive the games and are pretty famous, what Katniss doesn’t know is that she has started a rebellion and that’s what she discovers in the second book, which is what I will be talking about in the next paragraph.

            Catching Fire, a pretty interesting book but very boring in the beginning. This book talks about how Katniss and Peeta are required to enter the arena again. They were happy to have survived the hunger games and were going around Panem visiting districts and giving speeches happily. Everything was going very well until she saw a video of how the districts were starting to rebel after she had won and given the speeches. The districts were starting to rebel except for district 12, they were all wondering why not start a rebellion but the problem was that district 12 was not ready for it and was very weak at those times. The year had passed and the Hunger games were approaching, Katniss was not really worried about it until they announced that this year, the victors were going back to the arena again because of the Quarter Quell. She was going back to the arena and she was going to fight all the other victors that had survived the Hunger Games. This time, Katnisse’s goal was to protect Peeta from dying or any danger or risk of death, meaning she was even going to risk her own life to safe him. In the arena, she made lots of allies such as Finnick, a strong good looking guy with special abilities with the trident. She suffered a lot in the arena; there were every kind of dangers in the arena like monkeys, gases that would kill you and even huge waves which would drown them. Katniss and Peeta passed through all those obstacles, they suffered and even lost some allies in the way. At the end, one of their allies which was good in technology and with the wire, decided to make a trap that would kill their enemies. His trap was to transfer electricity to the water where their enemies were going to be and like that, electrify them and killing them right away. Everything was going well until a huge explosion was created around the arena. So if you want to know if Katniss and Peeta survived, you will have to the book.

            One last thing, if you really liked the Hunger Games, I would suggest you to watch the movie that is coming out because from what I have seen from the trailer, it looks really good and I am really looking forward in watching it.
